Storage America - History
We are a family-owned and operated business and began as a simple operation with our 1st facility in Port Charlotte, Florida...home to great weather, fantastic fishing and an easy lifestyle surrounded by Gulf Coast blue water and blue skies. That was in 1995. Since then we have grown to offer customers in Homestead, Florida (the Atlantic Ocean side) and in Rhode Island the service and quality care we expect of ourselves and hope you will expect of us.
Our facility in Homestead has been fortified post-Hurricane Andrew and is built to last. It is situated right in the middle of Miami and the Florida Keys. Our three Rhode Island facilities are all unique in their own way. Our Lincoln location just happens to have a rock gym located on the grounds! Come check it out sometime. Our Central Falls and Pawtucket locations are situated within turn-of-the-century mill buildings and have been completely renovated. They are an interesting peek into the days of the American Industrial Revolution. Rhode Island is where it all began!
As we look forward to the 2nd decade of this century the emphasis we have always placed on customer service, a superior product and the lowest rates remains intact. We are expanding our reach into the communities we serve and becoming more involved at the local level with important social initiatives. It's all part and parcel of being a real member of the neighborhoods we call home to our business and where our team members live and work and, for the most part, have spent their lives in.
